Mer Skrik
We are launching Mer Skrik – our new venture into genre films!
We are announcing up to three writing assignments worth NOK 66,666 × 2 for the best ideas for original, innovative, and shocking horror films. The assignment is to develop the project from idea to full synopsis.
Anything goes – as long as it challenges, entertains, and surprises.
After the great joy and success of THE INNOCENTS (2021) and THE UGLY STEPSISTER (2025), we are continuing our focus on genre films and establishing the Mer Skrik label.
This is a unique opportunity to develop new talent, explore bold and experimental narratives, and reach a wide audience – both at home and internationally.
Evaluation: Submitted ideas will be evaluated anonymously – the best idea wins.
How to apply:
Send us a description of your idea, max. 2 pages, including:
A brief presentation of the idea (1–2 paragraphs)
Presentation of the main characters
Description of the location/environment
Consider: few characters, few locations, action in the present, off the beaten track – with a distinct character.
