A young Finnish woman escapes an enigmatic love affair in Moscow by boarding a train to the arctic port of Murmansk. Forced to share the long ride with a larger than life Russian miner, the unexpected encounter leads the occupants of Compartment No. 6 to face major truths about human connection.
Compartment No. 6 is writer and director Juho Kuosmanen’s second feature film after the debut The Happiest Day in the life of Olli Mäki. It was selected as Finland’s Oscar candidate in the category Best Foreign Film. Compartment No. 6 is based on author Rosa Liksom’s award-winning novel, and is a warm and funny road movie.
